Day 29 ~
Sioux Falls,South Dakota
to Worthington, Minnesota

Today's ride was a nice way to ease back into the biking after our day off. The scheduled course was 65 miles of slight rolling hills, climbing a total of 1600'. The temperature was very mild; between 65 and 75 the entire day. Winds were evident, but mild. Beautiful green fields of corn and soybeans lined most of our route. We passed through several small towns before arriving in Worthington. Instead of heading directly for the hotel, we chose to explore the downtown of Worthington and the wonderful lake there. (total 71 miles )

Still in South Dakota, we witness some fabulous agriculture, green trees and manicured lawns. Here is a lovely old church with an accompanying graveyard.

Departing South Dakota and entering Minnesota we road past acres and acre of mature corn and soy beans. It was a great last experience in South Dakota.

Hooray, we make it to Minnesota. Above from left to right is Tim, Cathy, Sue, Kate, Sonja and Mike H. Riding across the state line made Tim feel as if he was riding back to his youth.

Kate Giordano is a strong, fun and friendly rider from Connecticut. She has been with us since the beginning in Oregon, but unfortunately this is her last leg. She will be departing our group next week.

About 4 miles of dirt road were apart of todays route due to some road construction. No problem for us!

Kate and Gerard on the roll ... in the hay.

Tim wishing he had his windsurfer here at Okabena Lake in Worthington. This lake was home of the 2003 windsurfing national championship.
In the downtown of Worthington we found a great place to have lunch. When we arrived at this Louisanna cuisine restaurant these lovely ladies in red added vibrant color to the atmosphere. The Racey Rubies Worthington area's Red Hat Society gather monthly to have lunch and socialize. They were a delightful group of cheerful women. The Red Hat Society is a nationwide social group that has many county/city communties.
