Day 39 ~
Birch Run to Port Huron, Michigan

Can't believe how lucky we've been... the TV news indicates there is a storm front following us and a some less than desirable weather several days infront of us. We are in this perfect weather pocket.. and are thrilled about it. Although we cycled 90 miles today, those miles flew by. The very gentle rolling hills were similar to those we saw the last two days. Total elevation gain today was only 1080'. We passed through a few small towns today including Millington, Brown and Yale (home of bologna festival). We arrived into Port Huron in time for lunch.

Early morning start provided a colorful sky.

Tim cruisin' along another beautiful country road of Michigan.

9 o'clock shot of the day

Bill and Sonja, riding together in a two person paceline. They both are nursing road rashes they acquired earlier this week.

2nd SAG stop of the day was in a friendly, shady park in the town of Yale.

Team Stop-a-Lot are always clowning around. Steve, Mary, Danny and Clark at the SAG stop.

The Holiday Inn Express in Port Huron has a large indoor hot tub and pool to be enjoyed. Ania, Tim and Karen are cooling off. Matt is soaking up the heat.

Our first time bowling on this tour. Beer and bowling, what could be better on a full stomach of Chinese food. Port Huron Lanes was next to our hotel.

Bill, Darrell and Cheryl bowled as a team and earned the right to call themselves ABB Port Huron bowling champs.

Terry, Tim and Cathy had a great time bowling and can proudly claim second place (out of 2 teams). Tim had high score of the evening with 198 !!!
