Day 4~ KahNeeTa to Prineville- 61 miles in high desert. Weather -low 60's to 90's around mid day.

Danny,"the bike cam man" makes his way up the hill, out of KahNeeTa. You can see his camcorder on the side of his handle bar.

The schedule today was to meet at 6:30 for a buffet breakfast, load the luggage at 7:00 and hit the road. The total milage was only 61 miles, but the we did have 3,600' of climbing, which we began at mile 2 with a eye-opener climb out of the KahNeeTa canyon. Even at 7:30 we were working up a good sweat beneath the clear blue skies that were already warming up the asphalt.

We admire both our shadows and the Deschutes River as we make our way south on Route 26.

Climbing yet another hill. This one has as reward at the top... the fabulous view of Mt. Jefferson directly infront of us.

9 o'clock Shot of the Day
We were a fast fivesome taking a short pit stop... Tony, Tim, Jenn, Steve and Cathy (taking photo).

To our fivesome... we gained Mike Bruno, a strong cyclist from Los Altos Hills, CA (next to Tim). We were the first ones to Prineville!!! (Before it got really hot.)
