| Day 5~ Prineville to John Day |
117 miles ,5800' of climbing, clear warm-hot weather with a morning headwind followed by an afternoon tailwind. |
| The first sag stop was well deserved... at mile 30 - very close to the top of our 4,720' pass. Checking out the snack table is Steve, others are Cheryl, Keith, staff Bob and Jenn. |
Henry, the black bear that lives belongs to the local gas station owners in the tiny town of Mitchell seems non-threatened by the stare of Steve. |
The roadside scenery was incredible; the high deserts turned into grasslands |
Cathy, trying to keep cool during one of the two lengthy uphill climbs. |

It was fun, fast and with a great tailwinds. Descending the canyon was awesome. |
