Day 5~ Prineville to John Day

117 miles ,5800' of climbing, clear warm-hot weather with a morning headwind followed by an afternoon tailwind.

The first sag stop was well deserved... at mile 30 - very close to the top of our 4,720' pass. Checking out the snack table is Steve, others are Cheryl, Keith, staff Bob and Jenn.

9 o'clock Shot of the Day
Steve Worthy, great guy with a fun personality and he can ride like the wind. Steve is also currently from the Bay Area.

Henry, the black bear that lives belongs to the local gas station owners in the tiny town of Mitchell seems non-threatened by the stare of Steve.

Mike, riding stong and steady up the second hill.

The roadside scenery was incredible; the high deserts turned into grasslands

Cathy, trying to keep cool during one of the two lengthy uphill climbs.

The road invited us to enjoy the vistas and the promise of some great descents.

Tuck and go... fast. Hooray

It was fun, fast and with a great tailwinds. Descending the canyon was awesome.
